At YAARN, we’re all about the handmade — from soft winter knits to intricate crochet, we believe materials matter. Here’s a closer look at the fabrics and yarns we’ve chosen for this collection — each one selected for its feel, quality, and ability to bring our pieces to life.

Winter Muslin
Our signature muslin, reimagined for winter. This off-white double weave gauze is slightly heavier than our summer version, offering extra warmth while staying breathable. Made from 100% organic cotton, it’s soft, natural, and easy to care for — no ironing needed thanks to its beautiful crinkled texture.
Care: Machine wash cold. Pre-soak for tougher stains if needed. Line dry.
Pure Winter Wool
We use 100% wool yarn in our warmest pieces — sweaters, cardigans, vests, and cosy accessories. This ultra-soft wool is sourced from Australia and spun and dyed in small batches in India, giving it a rich, handmade quality. You’ll find it in both timeless plain knits and our signature colourful granny square designs.
Care: Wash cold on a delicate or hand-wash machine cycle with low spin. Dry flat to maintain shape, putting a towel underneath can help for it to dry better and faster.
Mixed Cotton
Some of our favourite textures come from a subtle play of colour and fibre. This material blends a soft beige thread with a coloured one, creating depth and a lightly marled effect. It’s crafted with care and intention — a soft, tactile choice that highlights the handmade nature of our pieces.
Care: Wash cold on a delicate or hand-wash machine cycle with low spin. Dry flat to preserve the shape and texture.
Organic Mercerised Cotton
We use 100% organic mercerised cotton thread — a smooth, strong yarn with a gentle sheen. It comes in beautiful solid colours that we combine in different techniques and stitches throughout the collection. This is the quality behind the fine details: delicate trims, sweet collars, and full crochet pieces like our Anna dress, where mixed granny squares come together in playful colour palettes.
Care: Cold machine wash. For full crochet pieces, dry flat to avoid stretching and keep their shape.
Note: This yarn has a light coating that helps during the crochet process, but it softens beautifully after the first wash — while still holding its shape. The more it’s worn and washed, the softer and more comfortable it becomes.
